Dr Imke de Gier
Academic Language Services was set up by Imke de Gier in 2012 to provide high-quality and professional translation and editing services to academics in the humanities who need to publish in English. Imke holds a BA in History and an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of Bristol. She did her PhD on the medieval mystic Marguerite Porete at the Ruusbroec Institute at the University of Antwerp and has published in the field of medieval mysticism. As editorial assistant, she helped establish the Journal of Dutch Literature for Amsterdam University Press. Imke has copy edited numerous academic texts in the fields of history, literature, philosophy, sociology and theology. Academic Language Service’s editors and translators are truly bilingual (or trilingual) and have an in-depth understanding of academic writing, editing, and publishing.
